Misandry and the disgust, contempt or male hate. This is a form of pathological aversion to men, as a sexual gender, being considered the opposite of misogyny, which is the feeling of repulsion and hatred for the female sex.
Etymologically, the term "misandry" arose from the Greek misosandrosia, composed by the joining of the particles misos, which means "hate", and andros which means "man".
Currently, the term "androphobia" can also be considered synonymous with misandry. The opposite, that is, the admiration and passion for the male sex is known for phillandine.
Misandry and Feminism
Many people associate feminism as a propagator of misandric discourse, however, feminism, unlike machismo, is a political, social and philosophical movement that defends the equality of rights and duties between male and female.
